The Cruise Lines International Association, CLIA, says the total number of people cruising worldwide will be up 6.6% from 2010. This is a significant jump and a encouraging prediction for the travel economy. Our office has noticed two types of cruise consumers. Those who like to enjoy cruising and are excited about the new ships from major cruise lines such as Carnival, Celebrity Cruises and Disney Cruise Line. And those who have not had a vacation in several years and like value a cruise offers.
The major cruise lines introduced 12 ships in 2010 they include the largest and most innovative cruise ships in history: Allure of the Sea, Norwegian Epic and the Disney Dream.
Among cruise industry trends expected for 2011, according to a survey of CLIA members
