Define UNESCO

Each year, the United Nations unveils a list of the world's most stunning natural attractions, called World Heritage sites.  The designation shines the spotlight on a handful of hidden gems, while also protecting them from man.
Over the past 28 years, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has identified more than 180 of these natural wonders across 77 countries. These "World Heritage Sites" are deemed "unique, irreplaceable, and authentic." The esteemed club includes the likes of the Grand Canyon, Mount Everest, and Victoria Falls among other iconic sites. (Manmade landmarks, such as Rome's Colosseum, are counted separately.)  Check out World Heritage Sites added in 2010

Spooky Places to Visit - Part 1

Tampa Theatre: Tampa, Florida
tampa theaterWith its ornate 1920's decor, gargoyles in the lobby and a Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ rising mysteriously from beneath the stage, the Tampa Theater is a perfect setting for a good old-fashioned scare.  Keep your eyes open for the ghostly presence of Foster Fink Finley, the theater's projectionist for some 35 years.  He died in the projection room during a movie showing in 1965 -- and has supposedly been haunting the place ever since.
Stanley Hotel: Estes Park, Colorado
There may or may not be any actual spirits floating around this famous hotel.  But scary, yes!  The Stanley Hotel served as Stephen King's main inspiration for the secluded and spine-chilling Overlook Hotel he wrote of in mega-thriller "The Shining."

Queen Mary: Long Beach, California
This landmark ship was launched in 1934 and is now permanently docked in Long Beach as a floating hotel and historic attraction.  The ship has so much paranormal activity that it now offers daily ghost tours.

Disney Dream's launch is still a few months away, but details are slowly being revealed.  She will boast what is promised to be one of the most sophisticated entertainment programs in the cruise industry!

That said, prepare for Broadway-style stage shows, a revamped version of the line's popular pirate-themed costume night and a three-deck-high theater -- plus digital animated effects said to be among the most advanced in live theater.
